I'm not Black but I have found that the use of the "N" word is too prevalent in this society. I hate it bad! I think it is used for the wrong things too many times? Don't use it at all!
Or its spread is easily done nonchalantly through slang, TV, books, and music mediums. Y'all know what I'm talking about? The word STINKS! It is not a beautiful or meaningful word. Stick to using "brother," "homie or holmes," "bro," "cuz," or YOUR GIVEN name! I think it brings down good honest Black people -in the eyes of haters- and everyone in their race as a whole if one uses it! It allows hatemongers, racists and W. supremacists to laugh at ignorance be it unintended or not? That word was used by slaveowners and the like back then as a derogatory demeaning, belittling word to describe the African Americans who were enslaved, hung, tortured etc. unjustly-crimes against humanity! Why add to their fire? I know peer pressure to be and act cool IS SO HARD! Come on people, denounce it, educate why it shouldn't be used, and uplift yourselves to yourself and in front of others! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
If your interested in a cool website talking about this, look up www.abolishthenword.com. Enjoy the site! Get educated!!!!!!

1.good to know it's that easy... i believe the expression is 'child's play'.... which tends to squash your selection and use of 'MAN'...

2. not into same gender 'Fkkng', i'm sure you can find the right one for you around here or on the street....

3. you're starting to excel at avoidance...

define 'they'...

please translate..: "I expect The Village People were indeed your kind of people"

ANNNND : "she sounds like more of a man than you."

4.your fractious retorts are starting to expose a slanted edge that are not very pretty...the comment of 'two WHITE men' quite poignant... and are you sure that i AM white...???
altho' you did admit to memory issues...

I made you a gentlemanly offer very early in this exchange to 'agree to disagree'

Hello Dave,
Gentlemanly offer requires two gentlemen(Giver / Receiver)...and, yes, you (without provocation) are being viciously 'tag teamed' by two of the sweetest people in 'real life'. Please continue to voice your opinion. I, for one, am extremely interested in what you've been writing and find it refreshing! Choose, however, not to stoop. Bickering , AFTER you have made a valid and comprehensible point regarding a particular blog, is never a good look for a Gentleman or a Lady. Sometimes, you just have to 'set it...and forget it'.

interesting you point out color differences... you create your own dichotomy... spend more time downtown....friday nights should include saturday through friday.... one night stands are not the answer....

]quote[I think the common use of the 'N' word in current times comes from the rap culture.]quote[

you just might be looking through a glass darkly..... the possibility of the screenwriters and producers using the term 'Negro' may have been more of a box office attractive move than what was really said... when was the last time you enjoyed harlem or inner city...???
the use of the 'N' word in rap is more of an 'in your face' lyric, that on one hand says, 'we can and you can't say it' as well as metaphorical symbol of what allowed it to become the nasty racist slur that it is and all the blood that birthed it.....it STILL raises hairs on the necks of people, whether it's said by eddie griffin, chris rock, or michael richards...
go dig out some redd foxx, richard pryor routines and you just might 'feel' out the underlying agony of their routines.....

[[[I just saw the mivie last week too and was somewhat, although not entirely, disappointed.]]]
does this mean i have to give you your money back...???

]quote[THAT HE WAS BUSTED.BUT MAK...]quote[

inasmuch as he was beneath contempt before he even hit the small screen...'word' was out on him prior... the ratings and revenue magnet of reality programming put him and his clan in front of everybody... he was never 'in the closet'... some money/promotion hungry suits decided to put him on a media pedestal and said, 'leave him up there till he 'blows' and the bylines & headlines turn to RED lines... from the time he began to gget noticed... a lot thinner, hair a lot shorter, ran a lot quicker... fade to a comical quentin tarantino version of rutger hauer in 'dead or alive'...waddling after the bond jumpers all p(r)imped out in silver tipped boots and enough mace cans to decorate a christmas tree...
this wasn't an accident waiting to happen... it was an unstoppable suicidal train wreck... along with his episodic deification 'cleansing' of their 'forgive us Lord, for what we are about to do...
and tragically, the suits threw it in our faces on a platform that should hold them in contempt as well...
the whole lot of them may have very well redefined prejudice...
can only imagine what's on the cutting room floor...
beyond ugly.... Fugly...

"and when they ran out of everybody else... then they came for me..."

have an update on me.... currently playing in the cinemas..."American Gangster".... great great movie/story, even if some theatrical license was taken.... denzel sensational along with russell crowe got their game on.... denzel even looks like frank lucas....

BUT, the point to be made... i found it quite interesting when denzel/frank lucas talked to his family, he used the term 'Negro' as opposed to what might have been used in the real moments... directorial decisions...??? Lucas himself in post film interviews was 'keeping it tight' on any in depth questions....jersey police said the story line was way off... still a great piece of work...
quite the entrepreneur for a 'street' business....

ok.... lets fade to part II...Duane "Dog" Chapman... yup you gottit... the now infamous 'Bounty Hunter'.... having a bad day...??? i think not... more like having a bad life...
an accident waiting to happen... a short fuse already lit...as if the producers and the execs upstairs didn't have a clue... YA THINK...?!?!?! the other bounty hunters were too bland for the suits..
the expression 'inappropriate behaviour' is way TOO good for him, & wifey too...
how much ya wanna bet what wasn't on the phone call is on the cutting room floor...???
animal abuse just might be sanctioned in this case...
WOOF...!!!

Very, very good!
Well it's about 1 year since your post.........looks like some progress has actually been made in the right direction.
TY so much for telling the truth about what the word means to white people.......as it has a completely different one to us blacks.
You obviously 'get it' and correctly spelled it out here!!
I applaud your post!
